Garment Care
Handwoven cotton wants shade, patience and a cool iron. Treated well, it improves for years.
Washing
Hand wash cold with a mild soap. Do not wring. Press water out between two towels instead.
Dry flat in shade. Direct sun pulls indigo out of a navy weave faster than anything else.
Pressing
Cool iron on the reverse only. Never press directly onto metallic thread, embroidery or brass — the thread flattens and the brass marks the cloth.
Storing
Store folded, not hung. A heavy boubou left on a hanger for a season will hold the hanger's shape at the shoulder for a long time afterwards.
